1. Introduction

1.1 This schedule contains all proposed modifications to the adopted Local Plan Policies Map. These comprise:

  • Minor amendments to the boundaries of two of the four existing Defined Villages as set out in the adopted Local Plan – Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst.
  • The boundaries of the proposed new Defined Villages of Bartley - Cadnam, Redlynch and Landford - Nomansland.
  • Proposed new housing and employment site allocations.

2. Changes to existing Defined Village boundaries

2.1 As part of the Local Plan Review process the boundaries of the existing four Defined Villages of Ashurst, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst and Sway have been reviewed, but only amendments to the boundaries of Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst were required, as shown overleaf. 3. Proposed new Defined Village boundaries

3.1 The spatial strategy set out in the draft Local Plan Review proposes the identification of three new Defined Villages at Bartley - Cadnam, Landford - Nomansland and Redlynch.

4. Proposed new housing and employment site allocations

4.1 The draft Local Plan Review proposes a number of new site allocations for housing, with one proposed for employment uses. In addition to the existing housing site allocations in the adopted Local Plan that have not yet been fully implemented, the following new housing site allocations are proposed:

  • Policy SP33 – Land at Knellers Lane, Ashurst
  • Policy SP35 – Land at Calpe Avenue, Lyndhurst
  • Policy SP37 – Land to west of Brighton Road, Sway
  • Policy SP38 – Land to west of Winsor Road, Bartley
  • Policy SP39 – Land to the south of Hamptworth Road, Landford
  • Policy SP40 – Land to the east of The Ridge, Redlynch

4.2 The adopted Local Plan does not contain any employment site allocations, but there is one new site allocation proposed in the draft Local Plan review. This is focused on the part of the Solent Freeport sites that lies within the National Park on land to the north of Fawley Waterside (Policy SP5).

4.3 Additionally, the Local Plan Review identifies a proposed coastal change management area (CCMA) along the National Park’s southern coast between Hurst Spit and Lymington. More details are set out in Policy SP21 and the accompanying text in the Local Plan Review.
