Five-spot Burnet Moths

The Five-spot Burnet Moth is a real New Forest rarity.

It is a day-flying moth, recognised by its black wings marked with five vivid red spots.

The creation of wildflower meadows and hedgerows through the Species Survival Fund project should help boost this species’ presence in the Forest for years to come.
