Family and Animal Showcase

Celebrate our final day of the New Forest Awakening festival with a day that is noisy, fun, and full of life! We are opening up the farm for a high-energy family day where children can get up close to our most famous residents and learn what it’s really like to be a New Forest farmer.

Whether you are a local family or visiting for the festival, join us for a day of fresh air, muddy boots, and “paws-on” learning.

What’s Happening:

• Meet the Farmer Talks: Head over to the pig pens and donkey paddocks for informal “lightning talks.” Our farmers will be on hand to introduce you to our animals, explain how we care for them, and answer all those “why?” questions from your little explorers.

• The Loop Walk: Take a self-guided stroll around Hockey’s own Loop Walk to see the Forest awakening in Spring.

• Photo Ops: Get a “farm-style” family photo by our farm equipment and animal paddocks.

• Team Presence: Our friendly team will be roaming the site all day to help you find your way and ensure the little ones stay safe while they explore.

The “Stress-Free” Lunch Solution

We know that sitting still in a cafe with excited children can be a challenge! To make your day as easy as possible, we have created the Little Farmer’s Lunch Box.

Designed specifically for kids to “grab and go,” these boxes allow your family to picnic by the paddocks or eat while you explore the Loop Walk – no table manners required! Email us to pre-book your lunch boxes: office@hockeysfarm.co.uk

Event Schedule:

• 10:30 AM: Morning Pig Feeding & Talk

• 11:30 AM: Meet the Donkeys and Alpacas

• 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Lunch Box Collection (at the outdoor “Feeding Station”)

• 3:00 PM: Afternoon Pig Talk & “Snack Time”

Planning Your Visit:

• Cost: The “Meet the Farmer” talks and farm access are free. We just ask that you consider supporting the farm by pre-booking lunch boxes or visiting our Farm Shop and Butchers.

• Attire: It’s a working farm! Wellies or sturdy trainers are essential for kids (and grown-ups).

• Parking: Follow the signs on arrival. Please drive slowly – there will be many “little farmers” running around!
