Finding local information

There are a number of excellent information points for visitors within the New Forest National Park.

Displays, leaflets and guidebooks can be found at the New Forest Heritage Centre and the tourism body The New Forest’s website gives further useful visiting information.

Lepe Country Park is another location where you can find out more and Forestry England runs an information and interpretation unit at Bolderwood during weekends and school holidays from April to October. There are also unstaffed information points based at various locations in the National Park.

Information with a quirky twist can be found at former telephone kiosks in Butts Lawn and South Weirs in Brockenhurst, which have been converted by residents to an information point and community resource.

Leaflets and literature are available at Brockenhurst train station ticket office.

To find out more about the history of Godshill and for general visitor information, St Giles Church was repurposed into a community resource. It is located 300m east of Sandy Balls Holiday Village.
