Public Service Protection Orders
Our partner New Forest District Council has put in force two Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) across specific restricted areas. The orders ban the following activities:
PSPO 1
- placing, throwing or dropping items likely to cause a fire
- or lighting fires (of any type) or barbeques (including disposable barbeques and any outdoor temporary cooking facilities or equipment).
This PSPO applies in this restricted area.
PSPO 2
- feeding or providing or depositing food for consumption by any New Forest pony, horse, mule or donkey
- or petting or touching any New Forest pony, horse, mule or donkey.
This PSPO applies in this restricted area.
If you see an active fire, or an unattended BBQ/campfires/cooking equipment you should get to a place of safety and call 999 to report it to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service. If you are unsure of what is prohibited or which areas are covered, more information is available at https://newforest.gov.uk/PSPO.
